Location FAQ
Since we had to cancel SDMF 2024, we explored other options to still do something this Labor Day Weekend. It is exactly what it sounds like, not as big as we were aiming for, for the full-scale festival, but still "Somethin'"! We are bringing high quality production and a curated experience, and a little birdy says that *at least* one of our headliners is still performing.
A bit further: about 2ish hours.
The exact location drops to those who participated in our T-Shirt exchange the week-of. The closest town is Hartsel, CO.
We are on private land, with excellent views of high peaks of the Colorado Rockies. We have ample space for both car camping and walk-in camping, and both open areas as well as treed areas. Still, we are surrounded by national forest and ask that Leave-No-Trace principles are adhered to.
Admission is 21+ only.
what can i bring?
Pets are not allowed at Somethin' Different. RVs are allowed in RV camping, and we ask that gas grills are used in all campsites.
Yes. All flow toys need to be LED-only.
Fire poi, fire spinning, or anything involving fire is not allowed without written approval from SDMF.
Weapons of any kind, fireworks, loud sound systems, illegal substances, drugs, or drug paraphernalia, off-highway motorized vehicles (ATVs, UTVs). Additional items may be prohibited at the discretion of event staff.
Bring water, food, layers (it can get into the 70s or even 80s in the day and low 40s at night in September!), flashight/headlamp, good hiking shoes or boots (we are outside), personal care items, anything you would need for camping in general. During the day, you should have sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, books, board games, musical instruments, or anything else you would like to have to do during the day.
This is going to be a scaled-down "mini-fest". As such, plan to be as self-sufficient as possible. We will have toilets on-site.
